The Log Cabin Quilt Top is Together

Okay, so at our last meeting on January 10th I volunteered to piece together the 42 log cabin blocks that the Magnolia Quilt Guild sewed oh-so-long-ago. Well, not really that long ago, word was it was 4 or 5 years ago actually. Anyway, the plan is that once it is pieced we will applique flower stems and blooms up one side of the quilt top so it looks like the side of a real log cabin with wildflowers blooming next to it. (What a great and creative idea! Thanks go out to Charlyn for the vision! I can just see it out on the Great Plains...sort of like in a Laura Ingalls book!) The extended plan will then be to quilt it and enter it into the Pine Belt Quilt Show in the Fall of 2014. What a wonderful accomplishment that will be!
So, here it is pieced and ready to be appliqued (forgive the mess that I call my sewing room that's in the background of the picture). I thought I'd give ya'll a sneak peak before our next meeting on January 24th.
By the way, it went together very easily. You ladies did a great job on all those squares! Thanks for your attention to detail!
